message to the brothas

Black Men,
Do not allow the media, other races or the powers that be make you feel inferior. You are strong in mind, body and soul and are more than capable of rising above the hardships placed in your path. Always stay aware and proactive of the social and economic inequalities that lie between Blacks and other races. If you do not then your status and the community will diminish and your many talents will be used and manipulated by others for their benefit. I love Black men for who they were, who they are and who they can become. Each individual possesses some skill, trade or talent that sets him apart from society; each one unique in his own way. Being God's FIRST man I see leaders or the potential to be leaders in every Black male I have ever come across. I see promise in every mind: empathy, strength and intelligence incomparable to any other's because Black men have lived under conditions and undergone experiences that others can't even begin to understand. You should know how much you are respected, admired and adored by your queens---you just have to let us. Always respect your women, Black women, even if she doesn't respect herself. You are the man, BE a man. Realize and understand that when you verbally and physically degrade her others will see her as worthless and find it acceptable to degrade her as well. Not to forget about the beautiful physique of the Black man which is unlike any others. From very thin to heavy set to finely sculpted his body commands respect and exudes a style and attitude that most races have to develop but it cannot be imitated. Brothas, always put education first. I understand it's rough, especially if you don't come from a strong, stable family unit. However I beg of you to please draw on those natural talents that God blessed you with. Brothas from the hood don't prejudge brothas from the suburbs just because they're in a different economic bracket---the world still sees them as Black regardless of money. Brothas from the suburbs, don't get your info about brothas from the hood from MTV and the news. Those people market what they do to make money. The ghetto is not a playground, people are actually struggling to make a way. Learn and know that life is more than fast girls, violence and "making that paper." Don't put any of these things on pedestals because most important is an EDUCATION. Education of white society, which controls everything, and a true sense of your own heritage. The combination of the two will lead to social and financial success in "their" world and will also always keep you conscious and aware of who you are. Mental enslavement while making millions is NOT success. Remember where you come from and return to bring aid to the struggle.

Styling my 4A-4B hair
Posted on March 9, 2007.
When I first did my big chop I didn't know what I was doing.I thought only one product could work on my hair. I was so wrong. My hair was so dry and thirsty. I found Motown girl which helped but I still was under the assumption that my hair needed water everyday and could use products like 3c hair. I thought everyones hair was the same. If this girl could use this product so could I. So I continued to force these products to work. Finally I found out out that simple products like shea butter and olive oil worked better for my hair. Then I found Qhemet Biologics and Jane Carter solution and fell in love. My hair never felt better:grin: I'm still learning on how to style it but I'm happy to have found something that works for me. I've also have learned to deal with frizz. No products will tame my frizz they just dry my hair out. So I've learned to except it.

Tired Of My Twist
Posted on March 15, 2007.
I cannot wait to take these damn extentions out of my head! Lol, I think I'm just sick of getting the same style over and over again. It gets boring after awhile:yawn:

I cannot wait til the summer. I really really REALLY want to get a fro hawk and I want to do comb twist myself. I'm sure they'll come out pretty.

I've seen a lot of girls on campus trying to rock frow hawks, but I'm pretty sure I can do it a lot cuter than them:flirt: Lol, I plan on playing around with colors as always.

But yeah, its getting too hot for these kinky twist. I probably wont get kinky twist again til it gets much colder or I may just try out a new braiding style for once. Peace out mofos.

Getting frustrated

Yes, I know I live in the desert and that can be really drying to your hair and stuff, but no matter what I do its like my hair is Krispy!!! yes Krispy! My ends are fine. I use natural coco butter to moisturize my hair. Use to use Shea butter, but it just seems like my hair is just a tumble weed or something. Not cool!!! Its been like this for the longest time too. I dont know what to do
